Who doesn't want their house to smell amazing, especially this time of year? If you are fortunate to live near a Williams-Sonoma store, you may recognize this dreamy scent that permeates their stores.
This fresh scent rivals that same smell you experience in the Williams-Sonoma stores and will transport you to a cozy place while simmering on your stove. There is something about the fresh scent of lemons and rosemary simmering on a stove that I adore!
All you need is a sliced lemon (I like to add a little orange too during the holidays), a few sprigs of fresh rosemary, and either two teaspoons of vanilla or my favorite, almond extract. You put these items in a little stockpot and cover with water and simmer up to two days, adding water as needed.
During the holidays and I am baking I will add the remnants of what I am using to bake with such as apple skins, orange rinds, cinnamon sticks and other spices, and simmer to get that cozy Christmas scent wafting through the house.
A girl in love with the seasons who wants to cram as much as she can into the 365 days of the year to live a life of bliss. Welcome to What Matters Most Now! I hope you will find inspiration and recipes you love.
