I'm trying really hard to take a photo every day to improve my photography skills and to document daily life. Originally inspired by scrapbookers Stacy Julian and Ali Edwards, I loved the philosophy of documenting the everyday...not just special occasions. It forced me to take photos of situations, people, objects and daily tasks that I never would have paid attention to before...but in retrospect, I am thrilled to have the documentation.
I recently stumbled upon this awesome website - capture your 365 headed by Katrina Kennedy, that provides amazing monthly lists and daily inspiration for taking photos. This list dedicated to the month of October from capture your 365 challenges you with photo ideas such as "crunchy leaf stomping" or "harvest" ranging to "make believe" and "blustery". These lists are the perfect remedy to step outisde the comfort zone of typical photo documentary and seek creative interpretations.
Here are a few of my inspired photo interpretations generated from Katrina's creative October 2011 and 2012 #CY365 lists.

Tradition
A favorite Halloween tradition - visiting my grandma's nursing home dressed in Halloween outfits. I'm so grateful to have this photo, even though it may not be the best photograph, it's depiction of the love and joy shared from this great grandma will live on with my children, now that their Granny no longer lives. This picture will remind them how excited she was to greet them, how she loved to get dressed-up each Halloween, how she walked them through the halls to show them off to her friends, and just what a privelege and blessing it was to share time with her.
