Wow! What happened to the month of December? Could that have been the quickest 31 days ever? I had so much more that I wanted to pack into that month (sigh...). Hello 2013! Here's a brief synopsis of what is happening around here.
cherishing our time together as a family...and realizing that by the end of 2013 we will have four teenagers in this clan (yikes)...
celebrating time spent with the grandparents...
...and Christmas at the grandparents with this cutie.
hanging in our jammies for hours on end...
playing marathon (I repeat, marathon) games of competitive monopoly...(not sure where the kids get this competitive nature)!
listening to the laughter and interchange amongst the four siblings will never get old...
cheering on our favorite sports' teams (Go Blazers, below, and Go Ducks, tomorrow at the Fiesta Bowl) and kicking off basketball season in our house with the 8th grade travel team's first tournament of the winter...
enjoying far too many delicious holiday baking projects...
missing the gym and working out during all of December but excited to test-drive this gift...
stocking up on spinach and kale to make our daily favorite green smoothies again... and tonight I am going to try these Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps from Mel's Kitchen Cafe, to keep with the healthier trend of the new year.
testing the Picky Palate cookbook (a Christmas gift) and really liking recipes created by author Jenny Flake, winner of numerous cooking contests. The Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies proved to be a hit.
packing up the holiday decorations for the next 11 months (sniff, sniff)...
saying goodbye to our Elf, Bernard who brought us some good laughs this month...
(at the drive-in with Barbie...it was dark, thus the poor photo)
watching Downton Abbey with the family and chomping at the bit for the next season to become available (I know that I am late to the Downton Abbey party but it's simply delightful and you must check it out if you have not already! The U.S. version of the show's Season Three begins January 6, 2013 on PBS.)
gearing up to start Project Life 2013 that captures daily life with photos, notes and snippets of everyday moments of who we are and what we are about via Becky Higgins' creative way of capturing time. Using the neat iPhone app Photo 365 to help me make this project a reality. Thinking that this guy will be a regular star, as he is the most willing photo suspect these days.
wishing you all the best year ever - thanks for stopping by!
