Just a few fun finds that I came across lately and thought I'd share...
Marrying at 100 - such a sweet concept that it's never too late to fall in love and you are never too old for anything. "It's not what you got...it's what you make out of marriage." - Dana Jackson, 100 years old
Nasa Marks 50 Years of Space Photography - in pictures - stunning, breathtaking and unreal.
I absolutely love this classic "Hail Mary" basketball shot at an 8th grade basketball game. Knowing there was no time left on the clock, the kid chucks the ball and the crowd goes crazy.
I love the Nest Thermostat that is connected to your smart phone for easy programming and controls. It also learns when you are home and adjusts accordingly. You can turn your heat on remotely on your way home from work. The Nest also designs a smoke alarm that is connected to your phone as well, sending you alerts if batteries are low or if a smoke alarm goes off. Brilliant innovations.
With winter weather here lately, the power has a tendency to go out unexpectedly, leaving us to rely on candles and flashlights (that hopefully have updated batteries in them), so when I read about this Wireless Power Outage LED Lighting System, I was intrigued. The system automatically detects a power failure and provides up to 40 hours of bright light.
We have one of theseBattery Operated Pepper Mills that turns on when it is tipped upside down and I love it. Nothing compares to freshly grated pepper and taking the step of grinding a mill by hand out of the equation makes me happy to grate fresh pepper quickly for every recipe calling for black pepper.
